May Theme - Pack Your Purse with OBEDIENCE Decorations - Decorate with pink and brown. Pink and brown tablecloths, pink flowers in brown mugs or vases. Put sayings about chocolate on each table such as "Nobody knows the truffles I've seen", "Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and I don't need an appointment", etc. Refreshments - Chocolate fountain or fondue Feature - "Night of Chocolate" Invite women to bring items that can be used in chocolate fondue such as fruits, (do not use pineapple) pound cake, angel food cake, shortbread cookies, pretzels. You provide the chocolate. Provide small Styrofoam cups or paper bowls and stick skewers for dunking the treat. Play a "blind taste test" game where you offer everyone small pieces of 3 or 4 different kinds of specialty chocolate, and then take a vote and declare a favorite. Devotions - Psalm 199:103 "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" What does it mean that the Lord's words are sweet to us? How does that affect our response to His words? If we say that His word is sweet to the taste, then we are affirming our desire to be obedient to that word. Outreach Emphasis - Invite a non churched friend to attend "Night of Chocolate" with you. After the meeting discuss with them their impressions of the evening. Missions Emphasis - "Good to Go in Mongolia" (visit www.alliancewomen.org and click on missions under Leadership Link for more info.) Bible Study Emphasis - "Practicing Unquestioning Obedience" Acts 9:1-18 & Acts 22:12-16 (See page 10 in Leadership Link Bible Study pages.) Prayer Emphasis - Pray that all of us as God's children around the world will respond to Him in obedience at all times. If that happened our world would truly be transformed by Christ. Spiritual Emphasis - "As we respond quickly with unquestioning obedience, both our own life and the lives of others will receive God's blessing. As we practice obedience to God's Word and what He asks us to do, we will be 'Good to Go as we Engage our World'." Key Verse: "God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." II Cor. 9:8
